Legal Question in Personal Injury in India

Hello,

I took my father's bike out one day and went out on a ride with my friends, i met with an accident and one of my friends was injured seriously, his father put a case on me and i was cleared with a fine of 2-3K with a clearance receipt of all the charges. The bike was on my fathers name, now my friends father has been relocated to rai bareli and he has re-initiated a case on my fathers name(citing that the bike was on his name) and is seeking compensation can he do this because i was already cleared of all charges. And if yes what is the easiest way out??Hoping for a prompt reply and thanking you for the advice!!

SIr, if the bike which you are riding is insured properly than you can file a objection to the said petition that the said bike is insured and if any liability is incurred than it it the insurance company which has to pay the compensation. Further has you stated that you have cleared with the fine, sir paying of fine means you have accepted that there was rash and negligent riding and you accept the same and hence have paid the file. Further if the bike is not having a valid insurance cover at the time of accident than your father may be held liable to pay the compensation awarded
