Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

We are 3 sisters and 2 brothers. our father died 35 yrs ago when we were minors.we sisters were all married before 1989 and we are from tamilnadu.my brothers and mother have sold most of our ancestral properties and we daughters were not given any share. my mother passed away yen yrs ago. presently my brothers are tring to sell the only remaining ancestral property. they are saying that since my father died before the 2005 amendment of the hindu succession act we are not eligible for a share. my query is that if the property was not hitherto partitioned dont we get an equal share in it? as per the 2005 amendment only partitions taken place before the commencement of the act should not be disturbed.

You all are entitled to inherit your ancestral property in equal shares.
