it depends upon whether the husband has written a will or not. husband may dispose his property during his life time by gift or sale and by will after his death.
wife will have right if the husband dies without a will
no time is prescribed nor is required. ancestral property is the one which is not self acquired and which one gets through inheritance
1. She has right of maintenance and court may attach husband's property for payment of maintenance amount;
2. Ancestral property will become self-acquired in your hands if you have no legal heir.
