Acquiring house possesion while abroad
Hi,
Whats the process in case you need to take possession of your newly built house/flat while you are abroad? Can any relative take the possession on your behalf? If so whats the formalities for the same? Please guide

The owner may authorize his agent, by executing appropriate Power of Attorney in his favour, to take possession of his property.

You(if you are a owner of the flat/house)have to give PPA to the person you would like to appoint to take the possession.

yes, the flat can be possessed even if you dont want to attend the court hearings. you even do not require a relative or friend for that purpose. simply send a power of attorney in favour of your lawyer empowering him to file the case on your behalf and the pleadings can be signed and duly notarized by you in whatever country you are. in case the country you are in, has a consulate, you can get the pleadings attested from consulate. go ahead and seek your possession.
