Is family arrangment agreement to be registered where there is transfer of right and title among brother and sister.

what is the last date of the amentsty scheme

Documents concerning immovable property are generally required to be registered.

Amnesty scheme is only for stamp duty. Last date to receive applications is 30/11/2008.

Family Settlement of immovable property is not compulsorily register-able as it is not transfer of property but devolution of property. It is governed by the Stamp Act. I have not its copy. Consult it buying it.

A "family settlement" is valid even without registration; if it only records the division of property amongst family members.
