how to pay stamp duty under amnesty scheme stamp duty 2008 by CASH OR BY PAY ORDER?
pls confirm as my agent is telling to pay him cash

It is always better to pay by Banking channel. You may pay your agent's commission in cash and tell him to receive the government dues only in bankers cheque/pay order.
However, it all depends upon the time availabe with you and trust you can have in your agent. If cash is required to be deposited, you may do so directly and deposit the cash in treasury.

Generally, a Challan is issued and same is to paid in cash at the Treasury Branch.
You may check with Stamp Office about payment by other mode. Recently, some news came about making available online payment facility at Mumbai Stamp Office.
