ancestral property

my grandfather had built a house in mumbai. he had 5 children. he put the propery in the name of my father in 7/12 index.now the property is in my fathers name.

my father now wants to gift the property to me. i am his only child.

is he allowed to do so by law and whether it is necessary to obtain noc from my fathers sisters.

how was the property transferred to your father. how do u say that it is an ancestral property. if it is an ancestral property then the entire property cannot devolve upon you by virtue of a will. read more on property laws on my website www.karvai.in.
