what is ancestral property?

my grandfather made self acquired land, this was passed to his son when he expired, he then passed this to one of his sons by way of gift ( 45years ago).

1) Was this ancestral land at time of gift?

2) Do i have any rights over propety?

3) my sister has now passed away, can her childen make claim on agriculture land?
