Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Our building is about 20 years old and the builder has not yet given the conveyance. The society approached the consumer court about 7 months back, but the builder has avoided answering the petition on one count or the other.The builder has now sent a feeler that since the land of the building does not belong to him, he can give a conveyance for the building only, but will help to get the land conveyance also.Kindly advise whether the suggestion should be accepted or it is some ploy of the builder to do some kind of cheating.If at all it is acceptable, how can the society get the property card to its name.

Society should have approached a Civil Court making land owner and builder parties.
