Buying house in SRA

I intend to buy a house from the original tenant who will be allocated a room in SRA scheme i Mumbai. Kindly inform me if its OK and what formalities can I follow. I jave been informed that the house cannot be in my name for 10 years.

You are planning something illegal and its not just OK and no formalities or regulations can be made in this.

Since transaction you intend to do is illegal. Hence no procedure or formalities prescribed for the same.
