Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Commercial property is given on rent to A party. First few months rent were received by cheque from A party but now for the last few months rent is given by cheque from party B his partner (A's partner). Is it Ok to accept cheque from party B ?

Take a letter confirming that party B is making payment on behalf of party A for the said rented property given on rent to party A
No, it is not OK to accept cheques from someone else than the tenant. You should accept rent payment only from your tenant (A) .
If party A and B are registered partners in a firm and rent deed mentions both the names, and the cheque comes from either of the partners in Firm's name it is fine and o.k. but if individual cheque was given by A and now B is giving individual cheque, then letter of confirmation as suggested by Mr. Surendra, my learned friend is must.
