Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
My daughter is engaged to a boy from above middle class family. The boy lost his mother 8 years ago and his father got remarried to a middle aged lady who cannot conceive now. Though the lady appeared loving initially, now slowly opening now and looks self centered. She is not willing to give anything to my daughter and bargains on every thing and even on rituals. Always trying to know what more we can give and shopping heavily for herself. Always expressing financial problems quoting their reception, their gifts to relatives, despite my taking full expenditure of the wedding on me. I am giving lot many to my daughter which was told to the boy's father and fulfilling my commitments, but the response from their side is totally disappointing. However, it seems that the boy who was searching for love and affection, got it through us. Kindly advise what is the legal status of the boy as regards the properties of the father are concerned. The marriage is fixed for April 2013 . They own big house and reportedly few sites, gold and father still working.
