Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Few days back I purchase a plot of 180 sq mtr in nashik. its gov rate is 10000 / sq. mtre. this plot is located at hirawadi. When I went to lawyer, he said that there is a law of discount in the property rate for stamp duty if the plaot is 50 mtrs away from high way. so the rate will be 7000/ sq. meter. but we need to pay him and the register officer 4000 each to avail the facility of law. Otherwise the register officer will not sign the agreement. As my nature, I don't want to give bribe. So sugget to suitable way to avoid the bribe and also avail the law.

The guidelines about rebate on property not on main road are published guidelines and are available in all registration offices.
In case you feel that registration officer may not follow these guidelines, you have option of approaching his superiors.
