Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Dear Legal Experts,

My housing society wants to prevent apartment owner from renting apartments to group of bachelor boys/ girls & foreigners. I want to know can they pass such a resolution in society meetings. Is this according to society laws? Can they discriminate among prospective renters based on their marital status / origin ?

Location - Pune, Maharashtra - India. Society is registered with Pune Registrar's office.

If you find that the resolution passed by the society is bad in law, you may challenge the same before appropriate authorities of the Coop Deptt. (office of Registrar Coop Societies) under the relevant Act of your State.

You must be member of the society, you can take up the issue in the General Body meeting of the society and ensure ethical and moral standards set by the society to maintain decorum and discipline.
