Dear Sir / Madam,

Please advice

On behalf of society

Ours is society of a building constructed under Slum Rehab. in Mumbai. Society is formed, but almost all the committee members do not know how to handle a societies day to day affairs. At present, society is managed by ex- Chairman to whom almost all the members and some of the committee members oppose. Still, that ex-chairman handles the day to day affairs of the society saying he has taken approval of all the committee members for day to day affairs of the society.

Apart from that, yet we have not received the Occupancy Certificate.

Electricity bill is also in the name of Developer.

Society have been allotted some rooms for balwadi, society office etc. The same are being mis-used by ex-chairman ( given on rent ( took heavy deposits with no monthly rent ) ) .

My questions are

1. Can that ex-chairman handle the day to day affairs of the society.

2. Are members liable to pay any society charges if Occupation Certificate is not received.

3. Please give the details of things to do for smooth functioning of day to day affairs of the society
