Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Dear Sir,

My Grand Father had around 1.5 acres of land which was totally ignored by my ancestors situated in Manipal-Karnataka near Udupi Taluq. It was used by a local person and as per land to the tiller law the court has taken a decision to give ownership to the local person without our knowledge. The reason belong that when the court served us notices to be present, we had already shifted from our house in Mumbai to a transit camp and newer received single notice from court. The land presently is occupied by the same local person. Court decision was taken around the year 1980. Our financial condition was very bad and could not afford to fight back then.

What are the chances that we may get our land back or any chances of compensation.

What is the procedure if any.

-Regards

Ravindra
