Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
My father was allotted land in punjab as compensation for land in Pakistan. Land was registered in his name only. Will this be an ancestral land or self acquired.

in case the property in lieu of which the land was alloted, was ancestral, the other legal heirs, if they can prove this fact, may change the nature of property. in case the land in pakistan was also in the name of your father being his self acquired property, the present status would be self acquired.
