Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

my father demised in 2007 intestate. we are five brothers and four sisters. all are married. we brothers are dividing the property among ourselves equally. are we cotravening any provisions of law? what are the rights of married sisters and what can they do and how can they claim their rights if any?

You will be contravening law as sisters are having equal share.

in India sucession is based on personal law applicable to parties.. so you ned to state personal law applicable to you.however no perosonal law excludes sisters from inheriting property merely because they are female.
