Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My father expired recently and amongst the various assets, there is a property he owned through an irrevokable GPA.

Now my question to you is that do we as legal heirs aquire that property also or not, whether his GPA is still valid or not?

Just for your info, the person who gave him the GPA is still alive.

Thanks.

It will have to be seen that whether or not your father had any more document other than GPA? Death of your father means death of attorney while the executant principal is alive. One option is to request the principal executant to give a fresh GPA in favour of one legal heir of your father. He may not do so. Depending upon proof of consideration paid by your father and any other document, you may have to file a civil suit for declaration seeking declaration from the court as owner of the property.
