Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
My father has a land property in his name. We want to build a house on it. I will be taking full responsibility of home loan. I want to get full tax benefits of home loan. I read somewhere that you have to be co-owner to get tax benefits. Is it possible to make me the co-owner of the house before building it (even though the land is solely in my father's name) so that I can avail tax benefits ? If it is possible what is the approximate cost and time taken for the formalities, here, in Karnataka, India ?
