my father has left behind two married daughters and a married son.son stays at the house built by his father and does not want to sell the property built by his father.can the sisters,if the property is not sold ask for division or stay in the same house?it's in india,west bengal

Yes, since they are entitled to their share equal with the son, if the son does not pay them for their share, the house may be sold and proceeds may be divided as per their shares.

sisters have an equal share in the property . in case you do not intend to sell the house, you may give them money in equal proportion to their share and ask them to execute proper documents of receiving their share before the court.
