Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My father has passed away leaving no will. He leaves behind his wife and 2 daughters. Does the property title have to be changed in favour of others? What are the downsides inf this is not done?

Title changes automatically upon death. Legal heirs are only required to have that change recorded in relevant records.
