Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

the flat that we live in is in my tauji's name. he uses the surname of agarwal; while we use jajodia. he and my father are real brothers. my father is no more. the society is asking me to prove that my father & my tauji are brothers & are charging non occupancy charges. i want to know if the society has the right to ask me to prove the relationship. if yes, will a stamp paper in which my tauji says that he and my father were brothers and we are his brother's family be proof enough?

Since society officials are in doubt, ask them what may be sufficient for their purpose.
