Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My grandfather had 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl) and expired (with out writing Will hence the property got transferred to all five and my grand mother) when my father was 17years old (now he is 56 years), the daughter was 8 months that time. My father took care of the family and got all the childrens married. The daughter was married in 1985. Today her husband (who is a alcoholic and has a very bad reputation in society) wants to claim her share in the grandfathers property. Can we do something to stop him???

just because one of the claimant is an alcohalic or has a bad reputation, he cannot be divested of his rightful share. moreover, the share would go to his wife and not to him. let him file a suit and you may defend the same by showing that the expenses for marriage was incurred by your father.

Already advised. Daughter has a share but only she and not her husband can take any legal action.
