Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My Grandfather had a house in Delhi, My uncle and his family were living in the house as my father had his job in bangalore. After my grandfathers' death, we continued to live in Punjab. Now my dad has retired and want to go and live in my grandfather's house in Delhi but we don't have very good relations with my uncle's family.

The house was transferred on the name of my grandmother after the death of my grandfather. But after sometime my grandmother died in 2005. The property tax which we are paying is still in the name of my grandmother. I want to know that after the death of the owner in how much time you have to transfer the property in your name if there is a will made by an owner and if the property tax is still with the name of my grandmother than would the will work till now.

your father may file a suit for partition and in case the will is there, it may be challenged as grandmother can only bequeath her share of property and not the entire property.
