Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Hi,
I am in possession of a property since 1987. I have actually been residing there. I got it registered in my name in 2003. The other joint holders of title till 2004 were my brothers. At that time notarised power of attorneys were valid. However, I lost the attorneys given to me by my brothers in exchange for money. Basically i paid them to get the property to my name. The concerned power of attorneys have been misplaced. When my brothers got to know, they filed a suit against me for registering the land in my name by fraud. I have continuous and uninterrupted possession since 1987 by residing there and all the bills are in my wife's name since that time. What do you think is the best way to defend my title and possession.

File Written Statement, take effective cross-examination and do everything law permits to do.
I am surprised to know that Notarised POA were valid in !994? You are lying through your teeth.
