What implies a family under Hindu law?

I am living with my wife & 4 children.My eldest son is 20 years old. He is a student ,& unmarried.I am a salaried employee. We are Hindu.Whether the above constitutes a family of father in the eyes of law OR that constitutes a family of my son under hindu law.? Also if it makes any difference in son is employed or is unemployed?

Under Hindu Law, husband & wife with or without children constitutes a family. It is also recognized under the Income Tax provisions as separate entity. Employment of your son does not make any difference.

Employment of your legal heir does not make any differance as under The Hindu Law husband and wife constitutes a family does not matter they have issues or not.

In your case the children and you husband and wife constitute one hindu famil which is recognised in law.It does not matter your children are employed or not.
