Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
I inherited the property from my parents in 1968, and constructed the ownerships in 1996. Since I am the granter I did not pay the stamp duty. Are the laws different now?

A person who inherits is not required to pay any stamp duty.

For flat/unit retained by land owner in a Condominium, there is no stamp duty under the Bombay Stamp Act.
