Lease deed

I work in a Bank.The Bank has not

issued any circular instructions

regarding financing units which

operate on a rented premises.Bank

instructions require a specific form

signed by the land lord.We have

received a proposal which which is

run on a leased out premises.The

land lord and tenant have executed

a lease deed on a Rs.100 stamp

paper which is not registered.Will

this unregistered lease deed may

harm our interest as creditor.

If period of lease is less than 1 year, then registration is not compulsory. Lease of 1 year or more is compulsorily registrable.

If a document require registration, non-registration may make that document invalid.
