Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Letter onbehalf of my father to Housing Society

Dear Sirs,

With regard to a dispute with the housing society, I wrote a letter to the housing society committee (located in Borivali(W) Mumbai) on behalf of my father - stating very clearly that since myfather was ill, I am writing on his behalf.

The housing society replied that I cannot write on behalf of my father in whose name the flat is registered.

Is this correct? Have I broken any bye-laws by doing so?

Your reply is sincerely appreciated.

The member may write directly or may empower someone else, like you in this case, by way of a Power of Attorney.

If you have Power of Attorney of your father, you can submit the same to the Society for representing your father.

Society will not entertain you without express written authority of your father.
