Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Liability of a POA
My father is the POA for my brother who resides out of India for a property that he wanted to purchase. What is my father's liablity incase my brother does not make payments towards his property? will my father being the POA have to pay for the property? Also my brother's wife was not pleased at my father becoming the POA and threathned to sue him for dowry keeping the POA as a pretext, is this possible? I do not know which kind of POA agreement was signed..General or Limited. Can my father revoke the POA himself if he deems fit?

Re: Liability of a POA
If in the agreement to purchase property, purchaser is brother of your father, then your father is not liable.
Dowry case has nothing to do with grant or otherwise of a PoA.
PoA can be revoked by your father.
