Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960

Can a member who is posted far away from Mumbai on Government Job, become an office bearer in a Coop Housing Society functioning within the area of Mumbai?

One can become office bearer in election. However, if elected office bearer in not present in specified meetings of the society, he can not continue.
