Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

my maternal grandfather had purchased a plot with his income and he died without writing any will in 1988.

he had one daughter i.e my mother who died longbefore,so as her only son i claimed the plot as his heir and registered it in my name.

I had registered the plot in my son's name in 1990.now he is going abroad and i want to transfer the plot into my name due to personal reasons.my son has misplaced the original registered deed .

please tell me the procedure by which i can get the plot registered into my name without the original registered deed which is in my son's name.

Take precautionary measures like report to police, public notices, investigation of title etc. to rule out possibility of mortgage etc. and to establish your bona fides.

Obtain certified copies of relevant deeds and proceed further.
