Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

After my mother eloped us(me and my sister), my father just left us with my maternalgrandparents and then he married someother one and they were happy till now he did not contacted us. I have a doubt regarding the property will we get any of the share in the property that belonged him and also can we ask him for the compensation for what he have done for us.

you will have every right in the self acquired property of your father, provided he does not dispose it during his life time or does not write a will in favour of any third person. You could have asked for maintainence but now it would depend how much period has passed. If your sister had lived for six months with her father, your sister may have a right for compensation under the domestic violence act. This act is a new law which mainly had been used by Wife against husband. But the law is for Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act
