Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My mother's flat papers were with me from last 6years but we never evev open those and kept safely, now we return as it was.My mother lived with one of my sister from last 2years, now mother and sister both blaming that some papers are missing and they will apply FIR for it, we are really disapointed please advise what we will do.
