Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Is mutation of property in muncipal records sufficiant proof of ownership. The ownership is under dispute.The property was purchased by father's money& father is in possession too,but the coneyance deed is in my name. Give law cases?

If the property was purchased with father's money, the ownership may be traced back to him; even though you may be "ostensible owner", your father will be the "real owner".
The mutation is a just a prima facie rebuttable evidence and not a "conclusive proof" of ownership. The mutation may be a good proof untill questioned by the real owners.
