Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

We are NRI owning a flat in mumbai under pagdi system. My grandparents used to live there and we visit mumbai on vacations. since my grandparents passed away the landlord has asked us to vacate and filed a case against us on the basis that we dont live there. we have no other home in india and we are indian citizens.
