Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My parents (who are now no more) own multiple properties in their own names. Me and my brother are the sole heirs of the properties. My brother is completely against splitting the property and also very uncooperative in settling the issue even when better portion offered to him. He wants us to jointly own the property and is not willing for any other options.

The properties are in our parents name even after 12 years of their death. Please propose actions.

in this situation, you may file a suit for partition of the properties being the legal heir. you may give details of properties held in the name of your parents and seek the partition of the same by metes and bounds. in that situation, your brother would have no option but to agree to partition.
