Penal for not building house by society committee members

Does committee members of society have any right to send notice for not building house - for the plot allotted by CIDCO.... they say the construction should complete within 8 months or pay Rs. 5000/- per month...as penalty apart from non-occupancy charges....is this legal or harresment ???

where are you from?

Even the DDC, TNHB, KSHC etc., had a clause in the agreement stating that it is compulsory to construct a building in the vacant plot. this is only to ensure that the plot is used for the purpose it was developed. and also to prevent misuse.

.. regarding the penalty etc., ... if you have signed the agreement then you will be held liable!

Check with terms of lease, bye-laws of the society and conditions on which land given by CIDCO.
