Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
I am a person staying in a chawl wherein i had taken the house on pagdi system by paying 1,500 in the year 1969, We were paying a rent of 20/- per month to the landlord, but in 1996 the government declared the area as slum and asked us not to pay rent to the landlord but it should be paid to the government. The land lord filed a case against us of not paying rent. We submitted all the documents in court but the court ordered that we need to pay the rent in the court. The case is not dismissed in the small causes court and the court has requested us to appeal in the high court. The landlord needs us to vacant the house. What can i do now
