Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
My name is Prashant . My mother got a plot individually in her name in the draw declared by DDA. As further I am going to make payments from my hard earned money for the possession of the plot on my mother's behalf therefore I want my name to be added jointly with my mother in the ownership of the said property (plot). For this i went to DDA office to know about the documents to be submitted for adding my name in the ownership with my mother jointly. I was replied by the DDA officer to simply submit the affidavit to be given by my mother & one affidavit to be given by myself in this regard that she has no objection in getting my name added in the ownership of the plot with her jointly and further i have also no objection in getting my name added in the ownership of the plot with my mother jointly. Now Sir will i automatically become the sole owner of the plot after my mother's death ??????since it going to be in joint name. Can my brother has right to demand share in the said joint ownership property???? If possible pls send me the proper legal language of the said affidavit to be given by my mother so that the title of the whole property will be in my name after my mother 's death & my hard earned money is secured.

despite the fact that your name can be added as a co owner but at a later stage, your brother may seek partition of the property. it is better u meet a lawyer in person for the way out.
