Question :: sir, my father paid a hefty sum of pagadi but took the room in a chawl of goregaon in his father\'s (my grandfather\'s) name, but both my grandparents are dead and the room is in charge of my aunt(who is well-of and dosent stay there). i want to know my rights as a grandson and whether i can get a share in case the landlord sells the room to a builder for re-development as my grandparents died without making a will.

Hi,

Who is staying their? Current/latest Rent receipt is on whose name? Pagadi system is not hereditary, the room goes to the people who stay their. Check out the register of landlord on whose the said room is their? If its on your aunts name, you can very well ask your aunty to transfer the same on your name. If its on your fathers name, then you need to approach the Landlord and make the application of transfer of room on your name.
