Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

real estate / land grabing

we have bought a piece of land in 1984.it was sold to us by a group of GPA holders.we wished to sell it now.when we had gone to the site we saw that it has already been occupied by a powerful land graber.they refuse to vacate and say that the whole lay out has been double registered. i.e it was sold to both of us simultaneously with out the knowledge of it.they are politically very strong and in no way we will be able to ask them for the documents that would support or stand as evidence of what they say.

total area that is occupied is in acres and ours is a small piece in it admeasuring 700sq.yds.few plot owners were compelled to sell their plots to the graber for their personal urgent needs.obviously no other buyer other than the person who occupied is willing to buy the plots.(for a very small price) locals say that the hold of the land is changing hands from about a decade.this person occupied the area 2 years back.EC issued by the regional subregistrar office says that i am the sole owner of the plot.how do we deal with this. and what are the possible options.please advise.

thank you'
