Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

I have recently purchased a flat in Navi Mumbai and have got it registered jointly under my and my wife's names. However, my name entered in the registration deed does not have my surname (as a choice, I generally mention just my first and middle name only). I have applied for a bank loan with SBI, but the bank has put this on hold since my name on registration document does not have my surname mentioned (my passport and pan card has my complete name with surname). Now I am being asked to get a Rectification deed done before loan can be passed which I find to be ridiculous. Is the bank right in asking me to get this done? Is it mandatory to maintain the same name on the registration deed as per your passport / pan card? If rectification deed is a must in my case, can you please explain how this needs to be done?

May be.

Each bank has its own way of working. You may comply with present bank's requisition or approach another bank.
