lease deed executed by the state govt. for a period of five years, whether registration of lease deed is mandatory.

If the deed is executed by competent authority on behalf of the State Government, registration of lease deed may not be necessary, depending upon local State laws; however, you may need to be sure that the document is signed by competent authority.

If the Lease Deed is of more than period of 1 year it needs a registration.
