What is a registry of a property ? Are sale deed and registry the same thing in India ?

in common language the registered sale deed is called registry. in fact a sale deed is executed i.e typed signed by all the executers and attesting witnesses and then it is got registered with the sub registrar of the tehsil/ taluka.

Yes, the two nomenclatures - 'registry' and 'sale deed' mean same thing.
