Repair to resident staying down floor of my flat
I am staying on 3rd floor. One of our society member stays down my flat on 2nd floor. He has made a complaint to society that he is facing leakage problem in his toilet. He claims that the leake is due to my toilet that the water is coming from my toilets through tiles in my toilet. Now the society has asked me to repair the toilet at my cost. I want to know is it right that society has asked me only to bear the expenses and not the member facing the probelm?

You may be liable to incurr the necessary expense without asking for share from the person facing problem on account of leakage in your apartment.

Society is right. You are obliged to maintain your flat in good repair and condition.

you are bound o maintain and repair your part of building if it causes nuisance to others
