I am resident of india want to execute a power of attorney in u.k. , in favour of my indian resident father, in india, to be used in india for taking a home loan.

As advised in the other thread the POA needs to be attested by notary and Indian consulate.

Your Special or General Power of Attorney in favour of your father has to be attested by Indian Embassy in U.K.
