Service & Salex Tax on Purchase of Flat

Hi,

I would like to know whether Purchase of a Flat in an Apartment which consists of 16 flats in Bangalore, attract Sales and Service Tax. If yes I would also like to know the %.

The purchase of property may not attract sales tax and service tax though rental may require service tax; however, may also depend upon place to place; it may be better to consult a local tax lawyer.

Service Tax/Sales tax are not applicable in cases of immovable property.

For sale tax, you need to check local law.

The service tax, though proposed, is yet not implemented on transactions of flats.
