Sir, my tenant who has not paid rent from the last ten months gave a compromise in the police station saying that he will pay the rent and vacate the premises 3 months back. Now he has filed a suit under Order VII Rule 1. What is my remedy?

You have to contest the case. but there are various other aspects, you have to engage a local lawyer he will guide you properly.

He cheat you no doubt. You can file complaint case under section 406 and 498-A and various other cases and he has to come back to india even his parents has to get the bails and have the harassment a lot in getting bail. There is one Domestic Violence act then u will be able to live into his house with protection by the police and you can also get a huge maintenance per month from your husband or his inlaws.
